WORKSHOP ON IMPROVISATION with ROY CAMPBELL (New York)
This workshop with trumpet- and flute player Roy Campbell is open to all instrumentalists and vocalists at all levels. A performance is planned for the final concert.

BIG BAND WORKSHOP with GUNTER HAMPEL (New York/Göttingen)
This workshop for sight-readers with composer, vibraphone-player and multi-reedist Gunter Hampel is based on his big band charts. A performance is planned for the final concert.

JAZZ ON FILM with EBBA JAHN (New York/Berlin)
This workshop with filmmaker Ebba Jahn gives the opportunity to in-depth conversations about jazz films featured at INTERPLAY ! BERLIN. Guests will join the workshop.

MAKING MUSIC FOR MOVIES with BARRE PHILLIPS (USA/F)
Bass-legend Barre Phillips has composed many soundtracks for feature films (Robert Kramer, Jacques Rivette, William Friedkin, Marcel Camus) and documentaries. He will show film-excerpts with his soundtracks and give an introduction to his compositional and improvisational approaches.

DOUBLE BASS-MASTER CLASS with BARRE PHILLIPS
He has lead workshops regularly since 1976 in Europe, America and Japan in Double Bass, Improvised Music and Music for Contemporary Dance.

DANCE- WORKSHOP with MARIA MITCHELL (New York):
This workshop with dancer and choreographer Maria Mitchell explores the collaborative process of fusing dance, music, image. Open to the public.

DRAWING-WORKSHOP with Action Painter JEFF SCHLANGER (New York)
Jeff Schlanger introduces his long-standing musicWitness ® project. Workshop participants will be encouraged to develop their own approach in a drawing session during a music rehearsal. Please bring drawing materials.
